Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is a natural product that is extracted from the seeds of the Simmondsia chinensis plant, native to the desert areas of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico.

For hundreds of years it was recognized and used by the Aztecs before the discovery of America, who attributed it excellent properties to soothe and moisturize the skin and hair. Recent research confirms that the Aztec legends are far surpassed by the properties of jojoba oil (or more than oil, liquid wax), with a chemical composition similar to the ceramides in our skin.

It is a moisturizing, soothing, antioxidant oil that can be used on both skin and hair. Contains vitamin E, A and D, antioxidants and fatty acids. Its properties similar to the sebum of our own skin make it an excellent ally for the hydration and nutrition of all skin types, and especially dry skin. Additionally, jojoba is antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and hypoallergenic. It can be used even on acne-prone skin.

Properties and benefits

Anti-wrinkle properties: Jojoba oil contributes to the production of elastin and collagen, two compounds that provide elasticity to our skin and that our body stops producing as we age. Thanks to this help from jojoba oil, our wrinkles are filled in and become less deep. In addition, the skin gains volume and firmness.

Hydration of both skin and hair: The ceramides in jojoba oil coat the cells of the dermis, keeping water inside them, thus facilitating better hydration at the cellular level in various layers of the skin thanks to the deep penetration capacity of this oil. Likewise, this hydration capacity also includes our hair.

Regulation of fat segregation: Unsaturated fatty acids have a homeostatic effect on the segregation of cutaneous sebum, reducing the accumulation of fat in the skin.

Anti-acne effects: This ability to regulate oil also facilitates the use of jojoba oil in anti-acne treatments, facilitating their success.
